This was a great experience with the wait staff and the beer. We didn't stop to get food but it looks good in others people's plates! The beer is great. As a person stopping by in a boat I really liked the local beer option in a great little town!

food: reasonable price, but mediocre. service: asked for water but the waitress gave it to me after I'm done with my food. ambience: cool and casual. very relaxed. highlight of the place.

So here it is a brewing company, and nobody at my table ordered beer. (I think we picked the wrong restaurant for lunch.) I had a hankering for a hamburger. Go elsewhere if that's what you want. My burger was dry, overcooked, and not all that meaty. (Did they mix in too much filler?) My friend got a pulled pork sandwich which she said was okay, but not the best she's had. Rather than a sweet sauce, hers was spicy. Someone in my group ordered a quesadilla, which she said was delicious. I dunno. Mixed reviews at my table. I think this place is okay, and clearly not hurting for business during tulip season. Friendly service, nice bar-type atmosphere. In my opinion, there are places down the road which may be better.

We came to a place with "Brewing" in the name, yet I didn't try a beer... In any case, the food was decent. I got the Chicken Gorgonzola pizza. It was very good... it could have used a little more gorgonzola cheese, and maybe a bit of seasoning on the chicken, but it was good enough that I'd definitely get it again. They also have a gluten-free crust which is a nice touch. Next time, I'll have to come back and give the beer a try!

We stopped in La Conner on the trip back from Orcas. La Conner Brewing was not open yet but the doors were open. I stepped in explaining that I realized they were not open for another 15 mins but that I'd like to see the beer menu. Excellent! They brew an ESB, my favorite yet hard to find brew. Unfortunately the woman behind the bar was so unfriendly and downright rude that we will not be stepping back in now that they are open......

I ordered the Salmon Burger which was awesome, fresh and very tasty. I gave a 3 only because the fries were burnt. The place is spacious and clean, and they have nice, decent outside seating with hearts. I recommend this place, hopefully next time my fries aren't burnt :(

Nice environment. Not too loud. Fast service if drinks. We didn't eat but the food look great. You can see the wood fire for the pizzas. This is a cool place.

When we came in it wasn't that busy inside, and only one family on the patio. We were told to seat ourselves and went outside to the patio. A server came out and greeted us and gave us menus, and then proceeded to try and help shoo out a little hummingbird that was caught in the roof area. After the bird was freed she went inside and never came back. After about 15 minutes or so my boyfriend went inside to get someone. He came back out and a few minutes later they came to take our order, which did come out very fast. However drink refills were slow and getting the check was slow. We ordered the wings which were great, and seemed to be braised and fall off the bone tender with great flavor. Ordered the mushroom and sausage pizza. I didn't care for it that much, but the boyfriend liked it. The crust was puffy on the edges like Boboli and doughy in the middle. Fairly bland, and the cheese was weird..almost like fake cheese texture. All in all the service is really slow, the waitress was nice. Food is overpriced, but this is a tourist town so I was expecting that. Beer was good, and I would definitely like to come back in for their happy hour which seemed to have good prices.

Not bad, not bad! Pros? -Cutest little taster mugs ever -Delicious wood-fired pizza (and that's coming from a pizza lover) -Friendly service -Beers were good, albeit a bit watery at times Cons? -Pricing a bit much (why can't samplers for beers be cheaper than a pint? Makes sense to me!) -Other food on the menu looked pretty average (judging by customers around me) and pricing was a bit much

Here at the opening bell on a weekend, we were able to bring in a large group fairly easily. Any later and it would have been a problem because the place really filled up. Despite having a group of 18 our server was able to take care of us all very well. I was very happy with how we were accommodated. The pulled pork sandwich wasn't that great, it would have been much better with more cabbage/slaw and more of the delicious garlic sauce that was on it. I wouldn't buy it again at the price, I didn't feel any of the sandwiches were price correctly. I wanted fries but the waitress recommended the Thai chicken peanut soup as a side. In a good way this was a bowl of chopped chicken in a delicious coconut curry style soup. It was very good, I wished I had made it my meal. There's a good selection of drafts, if you're looking for a beer then definitely come check this place out.

Enjoyed some beer and an appetizer here during a day trip to downtown LaConner. The winter seasonal (a strong ale) was just dark enough to warm us up on a chilly afternoon and the baked brie was pure garlicy goodness! We sat at the bar and had excellent, friendly service. Not intimate enough for a date, but excellent family restaurant or place to gather with friends!

Came here on a date and have no complaints. The pizza is really yummy and I can be picky about beer but I actually really enjoyed the raspberry wheat. We were seated right away and service is nice. Good laid back atmosphere

Love the pizza here! They make it a woodfired oven. We really like the sausage and mushroom. Best pizza if we ever had. Great choice of beers. Very good service! A real locals place. They must have lots of other good things, but we love the pizza so much we don't want to try anything else.

We came up to see the gorgeous tulips and then made our way into the town for lunch and shopping. I'm really happy we decided to eat here because it was REALLY good! Beer--Pilsner and Doppelbock were fantastic. I had the fish tacos which were pretty good but I wanted a little bit more flavor, maybe more sauce? I also tried the Neapolitan & Chicken Gorgonzola Pizza's and OMG I wish there were leftovers of those right now for my breakfast NOM NOM NOM. The prices were a little high but in a small town like La Conner where they rely on seasonal visitors it makes sense. The service was very friendly and pretty fast even though they were busy. I will definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

Thai chicken pizza is a must try. Great place to enjoy a cold beer and pizza on a cold drizzly night by the fireplace.

Came here on a whim after going to the Tulip Festival a short distance away. The first thing the waitress said after she took the drink order was that food times were running at about half an hour and suggested a chips and salsa because would come out right away. Way to upsell. We went for it because we were starving but it took two beers 10 minutes to come, the chips and salsa 20 minutes, and two burgers forty minutes. I really wanted to like everything but just found it hard. I tried two different beers over the course of the meal and found both of them to be almost creamy... that was the best word my boyfriend and I could come up with for them. The burgers were very dry and almost flavorless. The potato wedges (seriously, a potato cut into huge wedges, not like fast food wedges) were decent. The chips and salsa were the standard fare. I think we saw our waitress maybe 3, 4, times and had to flag her down for the check. I don't know if it was slow because of all the Tulip Festival traffic, but seems to me that the Festival happens every year and a little extra staffing/preparation would go a long way to help out.

The best cheese burger I've ever had. Literally took a second one home for later. And the garlic Rosemary oven Fries are to die for!!

  • Mark M.

Started out with coconut Chipotle cream clams, they were outstanding. I had the pulled pork sandwhich with the oven roasted fries. The sandwich was served with sweet cabbage on top of it and was very tasty. Rosemary fries had a nice taste too. Girlfriend had the baked penne pasta and clam chowder. The chowder according to her was a little thin but very good. The penne was bland and dry. Beer was pretty good, staff pretty friendly.

  • Tiff S.

Food was mediocre. I had a cheeseburger with a side caesar, the salad was soggy and burger wasn't noteworthy. My beer though, was great! I had a doppelbock which was the seasonal selection. Server and bartender were super nice but food was achingly slow to arrive.

We had a wonderful dinner! The best clams in the area. But everything was great! Shrimp Tacos yum! I think the best part of the night was the friendly staff. It makes for a fantastic atmosphere. Our waitress Heide was superb. Very friendly and helpful made my husbands 50th birthday special.

Ridiculous wait to get seated (hour) and over an hour to get food. Rude staff. Absurd experience.

Summary: Nice people selling OK beer and OK food. We stopped in here on a family vacation. I'm always up for tasting local beer, which led to a visit to this spot. I sampled the Porter and the IPA. found both to be pleasing but nothing amazing. The IPA only had a touch of hops bitterness and the Porter was a sweeter version of the IPA. We sampled a couple of pizzas and a salad and found all three to be OK bug nothing outstanding. Service was great.

  • Claire A.

I liked the vibe in the brewery but the food was mediocre, and the beers were a little watery. I was disappointed. This is definitely a very safe bet but you won't be blown away or appalled. Friendly and helpful staff, but the product just isn't amazing. Overall a positive experience but not worth attending more than once.

I'm going to give this place two stars for the simple fact that their clams in a coconut sauce were fantastic.. Now on to the rest.. The place was crammed, tables wayyyy too close to each other, We had a table of drunk idiots by us, yelling at the TV on the other side of us watching the Croatian team play soccer. No one asked them to calm down or keep it down, just kept feeding them drinks.. The service was the worst part of all.. Literally 15 minutes to get our drinks ordered, 5 more minutes to bring them out, then another 15 minutes to get our food ordered. The waitress seemed to be bothered that she had to actually fetch things for us.. I don't think i would go back. When in La Conner, ill try something else.

A day ride down Chuckanut landed us in La Conner for lunch. We had never been to the Brewery, so took a chance. While ok, nothing was outstanding. DH had the smoked salmon gorgonzola salad, and he said it was generous but average in flavor, with a troubling 'floral' aspect to the dressing that I concurred was off putting when I tried a taste. I had the sausage mushroom pizza, with added onions. My bad, I did not notice that it was a white sauce so I was missing the tomato flavor. It was a solid pizza crust, but the toppings were too piled in the middle and so it was soggy. Beer was pretty good, and the service sincere, if immature. We might go back, but La Conner has lots of good options.

Ordered the Baked Brie.. Amazing!! They make their own beer which is decent however no spirits :-/

Love love love the spinach salad and salmon burger. My husband loved the shrimp tacos although he usually gets the amazing salmon salad. He says the steamed clams are really good too.

  • Molly S.

Delicious food and friendly service. The coconut chipotle clams were possibly the best bowl of manilla clams we've ever eaten. So good we had to go back and order the "off the menu" shrimp pizza that boasts the same sauce! Inviting and friendly staff although service was slow when the brewery was packed.

As I love the IPA, fresh salads and the chicken wings (marinated and baked in the wood fire oven) I stop by here when I am in the area - I really need to branch out but when I do I end up back at La Conner Brewing on my next trip! I usually come up mid-week and have a great experience. There is always a different art show on the walls - usually local art of tulips, snow geese and daffodils.

You know this place is NOT for local La Conner-ites when the Chips & Salsa is priced at $9 (with unlimited salsa, mind you, but not chips) - and the server remarks that the chips are "nothing special", then asks whether you want them. D-Uhhh... We stumbled in here after our first choice was packed. Actually, we only wanted to use the bathroom, and La Conner Brewing was the only one with seats. (In the dining area, that is.) After sitting down, we regretted it. $14 for a Burger? Maybe the loveliness of the tulips are supposed to justify the prices? The fish tacos (at $12) were fresh and finely-cooked, but were just OK. We could've made something comparable at home. After sharing a plate of those we were still hungry, but snacking on the tulips just didn't seem right, somehow. After getting back in our cars and driving only 30 feet down the street, we were greeted by a bunch more (seemingly cheaper) restaurants. What can I say, we're idiots. Thta's why we ended up at La Conner Brewing.

I discovered this spot after a Tulip filled Tuesday several years ago when I was newly 21. It was a beautiful time when one heff got me happy. La Conner is a great excuse to drive Chukanut and Bow to Edison for some great beer and a leg stretch after sitting at the border for an hour. The beer is top notch tasty. I swing for the IPA, perfect hops with just a tip of floral hint. Their seasonal keep you guessing with normally a tasty standard and something fun(Raspberry Heff last week for those fruity seekers!) The service is friendly and funny. You can grab a stack of cards from the bar to keep you amused while you intoxicate. The food is tasty, above average pub fare. The IPA nachos are a little more sweet than savory and the pizzas(Try the Hawaiian and add jalapenos!) aren't out of this world but they sure do hit the spot and compliment the beer! If you find yourself heading north or south on I5 and have some free time, swing out to La Conner and enjoy a pint!

Great beer, good food and awesome vibe. We wandered into La Conner after going to see the tulips. I had heard about La Conner Brewing but this was better than expected. Cozy feeling inside with a nice patio. Great service as well. Must try while in La Conner.

  • Greg O.

Service was horrendous. Lots of worker bees but little situational awareness, like when a diner has been seated in your section. No sign of the server for over 10 minutes. When the manager was notified the only response was "oh there she is". Really? I'm local. I won't be back. The food just isn't that good.

  • Seth W.

The atmosphere is very nice. However, it took over an hour and a half for us (2 people) to get our meal of tacos and a quesadilla. Once we got our food, my quesadilla was mostly cheese, with almost no chicken or black beans to be found, and about 1/4" thick or less (thin for a restaurant quality quesadilla IMHO). The tacos were also not that good, basically Fish in a tortilla, with some garnishing. Again, the atmosphere was very nice and the place was busy (they ended up comping us our drinks for the wait), but the speed of service and food need some help.

  • Lakshmi B.

I'm giving 5 stars because the staff were AMAZING! Everyone was so friendly. We ended up sitting at the bar after dinner and closing down the restaurant while chatting with the waiters and bartenders. The food is basic bar fare done well. The nachos were particularly good and were huge. Will definitely be coming here again when we're next in LaConner.

We arrived about 10 minutes after their posted 9 PM closing and after a little pleading they whisked the five us in. We ordered quickly and had the Caesar salad, really good chicken wings, the kids all had amazing burgers and two of the wood fired pizzas. Both were excellent but I give the nod on the sausage and mushroom over the smoked salmon and avocado. This is the forth time I have been here and the food is always good.

If you're really hungry or in a hurry, don't waste your time. The only thing this restaurant does quickly is clean tables so the next sucker can come in and wait an hour + for their food to be delivered. My family and I (a party of 4) went in on a Monday afternoon, which you'd think would be on the slower side. I ordered a cup of clam chowder and a meal - the clam chowder never came, and I had to ask for it when the meal arrived. We saw our waitress 2-3 times, max. All of the service staff looked like they were spinning their wheels and getting nowhere, but the bus boys (as far as I could tell there were 3 of them) circled tables like vultures - in fact, it was a bus boy who brought us our bill! On several occasions I saw other tables asking the wait staff when their food would be arriving, which means this was happening to everyone, not just my family. They need to get their act together.

La Conner brewing had a great atmosphere from the moment we walked in. First, I have to say this review is only on the food and not on the brew. Although it seems wrong, we did not have anything to drink as it was a work lunch. Being a vegetarian, I choose to have the asian chicken salad, hold the chicken and sub feta cheese...It was awesome! There were other veggie options, such as the greek salad which also sounded great. Service was good and the wait staff top notch. Next time in La Conner, I will come back and not only enjoy the food, but also try some of the brew.

La Conner Brewing is a bustling, little brew pub with tuscan yellow walls and colorful artwork (all I think for sale) on the walls. There is a wood oven inside to make pizza, making this place a bit warm on the day we visited (one of the hottest days of the year) but there is a hidden little alcove garden in the back, left which seems greener and cooler. We enjoyed our IPA and summer wheat beer. Honestly, food and ambiance are just average here, but their craft root beer is quite good.

Had the prime rib panini. It was terrible. A little slice of gray overly chewy beef that was only located in the middle of the panini. The corners were just bread and cheese. The horseradish sauce was overpowering but that was a welcome change from the pretty awful meat that they advertised as prime rib. My boyfriend had Hawaiian pizza it was pretty good. I would have said something about how disappointed I was in my panini if I had even seen our waitress. She dropped off the food and we didn't see her again until she dropped off the bill and picked up our plates. I should have just not eaten anything except I was starving after a very long wait for the food. $14 that definitely could have been spent better!

My husband and I have been driving from Lake Stevens to La Conner for at least 10 years just to have lunch/dinner at the La Conner Brewery. LOVE every meal I have ever had here. I have been addicted to their harvest quasadillas, thai chicken pizza, and wood-fired coconut chipotle cream clams for years! I love a good dark beer to compliment and their local taps never disappoint. Always clean, fresh, with local artwork, and toasty by the fire. Looking forward to (at least) my next Mother's Day, anniversary, and birthday at the La Conner Brewery.

Beers are decent. The bad: Long long wait for food, even if you get seated soon. Like others said the service is bad. Not an efficiently run small-town restaurant operation. Will only come for beer tasting next time.

We drove up for the Tulip festival and were staying the evening, so we were looking for something easy and not fussy for a Saturday night. After walking around town, we found this place. Hungry, we went inside. The beer , the Pilsner was good, the pizza was meh. We had hopes with wood fire ovens and everyone else around us ordering pizza. Alas, the pizza was undercooked, no one likes raw dough. The waitress was okay nothing special. I suspect the lack of service and quality of food was due to not enough servers and the kitchen rushing too fast to try and keep up with the orders.

    (3)
  • Melody K.

The prime rib panini is NASTY. I wish I would have read the other reviews first. My friend got the Asian chicken salad which she said was decent, but had dry chicken. Lastly, the soup I ordered was good, but like warm. Definitely a disappointment.

  • Luis A.

The fish tacos were really good, I definitely recommend ordering a side order of the guacamole in order to enhance the already good tacos. The amber ale is ok, but the service was excellent. The waitress was extremely attentive and helpful with regards to what dishes she recommended, and why. Great vibe, and excellent decor. Next time I'm in town I will definitely come back.

The Brewery serves some really good food. It's La Conner, so it might seem to be a little on the pricey side, but our most recent visit was great! Our server, Max, was very attentive. My son had a kid's pizza with pepperoni, which he loved! My wife and I split a large Caesar salad (which was remarkably good, beyond expectations) and one of the Brewery's Hawaiian pizzas. Everything was really tasty, and it made for a great evening out. The Brewery is definitely one of the surest bets for dining in La Conner. Note: Always check Yelp's 'Filtered Reviews.' One of the businesses I reviewed has a 1-star rating with only 1 review, but there are 5 'filtered' (hidden) reviews averaging 4.8 stars!

My friends and I stopped by here for lunch and were satisfied. For drinks we had the Root Beer and the tasting flight. Root Beer: Very good. Beers: Wheat: Not much to it - no Pilsner: Like drinking water - no IPA: Nice citrus-floral scent with a good balance - yes Brown Ale: Good flavor with a hint of nuttiness - yes Raspberry wheat: Nice hint of raspberry...this was my favorite. Food: Chicken Thai Pizza: Do not order unless you like peanut butter, I thought it was very good, especially with the IPA beer Smoked salmon quesadilla: Lots of flavor...my buddy liked it. He said it wasn't outta this world but tasty. Fish tacos: Very nice platting. Again, very tasty, but no omg factor. Clam chowder: Lots of potatoes and thin...soupy, but good flavor with enough clams. Ceasar salad: Your basic ceasar. We would come back. Cute restaurant. Service was a little on the slow side, but friendly.

We recently moved from Kirkland to Burlington and have been trying new places. We decided to go to La Conner Brewery for the first time. It was a great location, great place, kinda boring atmosphere, but was cool. Our server came by quickly to get our drinks, we ordered a sampler of beer and drank that, and waited for some time. Longer than it should have been. She stated she was going to set these two beers down and come back for our beer order, but didn't and instead cleared a table. Came back a bit later for our food and beer order. Food arrived, took a little bit, but wasn't too long and said she would get my boyfriends pizza in one second as I got my order, but she then decided to go give people food and then come back to us. I ordered the salmon burger, which the salmon was baked and awesome, but the bun was dry and not good at all. My boyfriend got a pizza, which was fantastic he said, but his daughter got a cheeseburger and it tasted as if the patty was frozen, not to mention that the bun was again really dry. We are home-brewers and love love love beer, but this was disappointing for a brewery. There wasn't much nose or flavor note to the beers and really just fell short compared to the great brews we have. I don't imagine us returning to this place, which is a bummer.

This is a nice little pub nestled in the heart of La Conner. It is really within walking distance of everything in town. We were wandering around rather late looking for dinner (well 8pm - late for La Conner) and were glad to find the Brewing Company still open. Plus bonus - the football game was on! The beers were pretty good, as was the chicken quesadilla. We also tried a wood fired pizza and I was impressed - soft chewy crust with just enough crunch on the bottom, and very fresh toppings. Next time we are back in the area we'll be sure to return.

Well, this brewery is located in the heart of La Conner, a city that once revered the wild turkey as their Official Town Bird in 2005, then 5 years later giving their birds a boot from the city. Prior to the Wild Turkey Days opened La Conner Brewing Company. PARKING: Street parking in downtown La Conner. VENUE: This place has a lot of wood, and has a bit of a yup-scale motif to this. I'm not familiar with the demographics of this town, but I would guess that this is geared to the tourist dollar. It looks more like a wine bar than it does a brew pub. The plus side is that the entrance is from the West; the place has large frontal windows, giving an open view to the sky at sunset. DECOR: Modern. Contemporary. The art on their walls are pretty much the same as you would see in the touristy art galleries around America. AMBIENCE: Your favorite wine bar. FOOD: I cannot vouch for their food. BEER: Two stars. I was not impressed by their beer. I've visited several places around the North Sound and this one brewery where I would not return. With complete sincerity, I would give this four stars if this place billed itself as a wine bar. Since it is passing itself off as a brewery, I will rate it a brewery. I would give it two stars for the beer, but all things considered, it is a nice place and doesn't exactly merit just two stars.

It was late. We were hungry. Ferry to Sidney, BC early the next morning. Walked around La Conner - quaint, scenic little town, after labor day older crowd. Buttoned up atmosphere. We both got the Salmon Burger's, something you don't see on the East Coast. Lettuce, tomatoes, garnish, coleslaw on the side. Solid entry that hit the spot. The fries consisted of huge wedges of potatoes, inconsistently (under) cooked. For beverage had the brown ale. Very good, especially considering brewed on the premises. The waitress, born in Nanaimo, BC was very nice and provided good ordering advice and had some good talk about Vancouver Island. If we had stayed in town longer, would have been back.

Like it? No, loved it. Wood-fired - CHECK! Coconut - CHECK! Chipotle - CHECK! Cream - CHECK! Clams - CHECK! Any of these five would be a yes for me, but combined? Heaven on a plate, and loaded with sauce we were drinking off the plate when we ran out of bread. Dear god man! My wife ordered the smoked salmon pizza - it wasn't really my fave, but hey, it wasn't my choice. She also ordered the IPA, and was a huge fan. I also ordered the fish tacos, and frankly they were the best I have ever had. Actual cuts of fish, not breaded, and proper vegetables all served in a nice presentation. Big win here! Should I be back in the area I will go back.

LaConner is a great place to visit. They make their own suds and the IPA is quite good. So is the food and the environment. The menu is varied and has something for everyone, including the kids. Lots of TVs for your viewing pleasure. Bathrooms are spacious and very clean. Good job. There are many places to go in LaConner, and this should be on your list.

I stopped off there when travelling North on the I 5 had time to kill be before booking in to motel in Bellingham. Glad I did great beer and wood fire pizza, good service and friendly staff. Should have booked a room there in La Conner and got stuck into there IPA.

Love this place and they have delicious pizza with random flavors! We make sure to have an empty stomach when traveling to La Conner. It's a great place to just chill and catch up with no pressure of being rushed. Service is great and they are friendly!

This place was delicious! I enjoyed the brown ale, wheat, and seasonal lager! The IPA was good as well. The food was spectacular. The cheddar artichoke dip was out of this world and the pizza was very good. No complaints at all! Staff was super helpful and welcoming. The outdoor patio is covered and a great area to sit! It has a clear cover to sit under the rain. There are heater as well, which was a plus. Definitely recommend it.

My group of 10 girlfriends and I went here on a Saturday during the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. Our wait was long but the place was busting at the seams. We all ordered different things off the menu (I got the mushroom pizza) and there were nothing but rave reviews about the food and beers. Highly recommended - great food, beer, and reasonable prices - would love to go back for another meal!

Had lunch at this quaint little brewery today. The service was good: friendly & attentive. The food was pretty ok. I had ceasar salad and clam chowder. Chowder was thin and brothy, but tasted good. Definately fresh made. Hit the spot on a cold, grey northwest kind of day. Ceasar salad was rather pedestrian, which is not as bad as it sounds. Sometimes fancier or more classic ceasar is too fishy for me, this was not. But then I make a better ceaser-like salad at home. Daughter had cheese pizza. Sauce/crust/cheese ratio was good, but the sauce was too bland. Easily fixable, if they care to fix it. I didn't have any beer. Totally willing to go back and try the beer.

Came here on Saturday to celebrate my husband's 30th birthday with 8 other people (one being a very fussy 2 yr old)! They happily accommodated our need to rearrange their tables even though it pushed us fairly close to the aisle way. With each of us ordering an individual pizza, the service was quick and the food was ready before we knew it. The waitress split our checks without complaint and got all of our orders correct. All around good experience.

We just moved from Kirkland to Burlington and wanted to try new breweries. We went here with high hopes, but was disappointed when it came to some of the beer and food. The burgers seemed frozen and the buns were just dry. I had the salmon burger, but only had the salmon, which I do recommend as its good. IPA, Pale, and Brown were the three beers we thought had potential and were pretty good, but the others not as much. Just not much characteristic in the beer, which is what you want. The service was a bit slow. We got our sampler, but after were done it took her longer then usual to check on us. She was going to get our beer after serving the two in her hand, but then cleared a table and then came back to us. Then two of our three meals came out and she stated she would be right back, but instead, served another table and then came to us, so that was frustrating to us. Probably won't be back again, but may give it another shot.

Pretty good overall. Not great. If I could I would give it 2 1/2 stars. I didn't try the beer so this is just about the food and service. We stopped in here during a short visit to LaConner. It was extremely busy and I felt they were a bit understaffed. There were 3 servers for the whole restaurant and there was no dedicated bartender so the service was a bit slow. I ordered the prime rib panini which I was disappointed in because it didn't seem like prime rib, more like roast beef... and it was a little overpriced at $13+. My girlfriend had the mushroom mac and cheese, which was a special that day, and it was very good. Very cheesy with panko breading baked on top. I would say if you're in LaConner and in a pinch for something to eat, LaConner brewing isn't bad, but I certainly wouldn't call it a destination restaurant.

I was hopeful to get a good burger & a beer in La Conner at the Brewery & restaurant but my partner and I left extremely disappointed. He ordered a pilsner which was cloudy, and bitter to all be-jesus to the point where we wondered if he should even be drinking it--like maybe there is something VERY wrong with it?? Maybe it was the tail end of the keg? If so, the bartenders should be more diligent. I heard the pizza was good, but also the burgers and I ordered a burger. I should have been tipped off when the waitress didn't ask me how I liked it cooked--- b/c it was a FROZEN flower shaped patty from Costco or Sysco or one of those gross food distributors. I couldn't believe it, and on a Franz bun--the kind I have in my fridge right now for cheap BBQ's w/ friends. So for $12 I felt totally suckered! I Not to mention it wasn't even good, terrible in fact. For shame, I mean really? How could a place like that not even offer a hand pattied burger?? McDonalds would have been a tastier alternative, for real. We had also ordered the crab cakes as an app, on the waitresses recommendation. I was really in the mood for crab (considering it is being harvested RIGHT HERE) but what we got were crab cakes which were almost totally breadcrumbs, dry, crusty, old tasting and falling apart. For $14 it was a total rip-off. Disgusting. Maybe they should consider putting some crab in them. Overall, I was appalled at the lack of quality, the canned and store bought ingredient choices instead of fresh and local?? High price for garbage! Next time I pass through La Conner, I will not be stopping here again.

Hamburger overcooked and dry - bun burnt. Porter was watery - not good. Service good. The hamburger was so over cooked you could have driven nails with it.

La Conner Brewing Company is "Okay, but not great", but is a decent food option when in La Conner. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to go there though. Beer: I had the wheat beer which I enjoyed. Some other posters have commented that they noticed the beer to be "off" however, on both my trips to this place I haven't noticed that. Maybe it's because I'm not a super connoisseur. I have found their beer to be good and that would be what would keep me coming back when in La Conner. Food: This trip I had the Prime Rib Panini Dip on waiter suggestion over the cheeseburger. I was expecting hot prime rib, but instead it was slightly chilled, not a huge deal, but likely would have been better if it was warm. I thought the meat was good, but wasn't a big fan of the Horseradish Au Jus that came on the side. I would probably order something else next time, maybe a pizza because those seem to be the best bet there. With the sandwich came a cup of soup, for which I had the Clam Chowder. As someone else mentioned the chowder is very thin. I had lots of potatos and some celery and enough clam to keep me happy. I actually thought that was the best part of my meal. Service: We went immediately upon opening on a Saturday morning. It was seat yourself so we did with a 9mos old. I picked a table that was somewhat out of the way and parked our stroller just behind the table at a place that didn't really interfere with any other tables. The waitress immediately told us to move the stroller because it was going to get busy fast, so we did. (BTW the place never got busy the entire time we were there, thanks for having to move the stroller). The service was otherwise fine. Orders were placed and received in a timely fashion. The bill was not delayed like it can be in some other places in this area and overall we enjoyed our meal, it's just not a "great" meal. I would recommend this place to others that are going to La Conner to shop or walk around, but don't go the 20-30 minutes out of your way if you aren't going there already.

Awesome beers, amazing food, and fast service. I had the prime rib panini, my wife had the salmon burger, and my brother had the cheeseburger; they were all so good we wouldn't decide which one was best. I wish this place were in Seattle so I could eat there every day.

As an out-of-towner, this place was a great find and the service was one of the highlights of our trip to the northern Puget Sound area. The beer (we had an IPA, a wheat and a pale ale) was above average, the pizza was pretty good, and the service was outstanding and why this gets five stars. Our food did take a while to arrive, but if you order pizza, you know that's a possibility. We played cribbage while we waited and hadn't noticed that the food was slow until the waitress came over, bought us another round because the pizza took longer than she would have wanted and asked what else she could do for us. All that, and the NBA game was on TV and we were able to chat with some local older ladies at the table next to us about cribbage and other games. This is a neat place in a cute town, and worth going back to.

Nice little brewpub right in the middle of La Conner. After cycling 40 miles in the tulip pedal, nothing sounded better than a nice beer and some tasty pub food. We were left wanting on both counts. The place was super crowded given all the folks in town for the Tulip Festival, so that made the whole waiting situation a little bit crowded. But, our table of 4 was seated promptly and we settled in with a few beers. The porter was ok...and it was the best beer they had. Nothing super special about it - but among all the others, it was a good choice. Husband had a sampler - 5 4 oz pours of their beers - including the seasonal dopplebock. He also thought the beers were just ok. The food - it's quite an interesting little menu. Some of the things sounded over the top (oysters with cream cheese and some other toppings - sounded like a lot going on). But the burger was calling out to me and the chicken panini was sounding good to my husband. The pizzas looked and smelled really good going to all the tables The cheeseburger was just ok - nothing unusual or outstanding. The painini was also just ok - small, but priced right. The clam chowder that my husband got with the painini was thin and watery - he wasn't thrilled at all. A nice little pub in La Conner, but we probably won't hit it again.

A am in a three star mood, although they should be 4 stars under different circumstances. This is a nice little place in La Conner, a half block from the bay. They were open and that is a plus when it is getting dark and you are really hungry. Food is 4 star for sure, the service was 3+, but a composite might be a real strong 3 star. If I am back in this charming town, I will try it again and probably give the fourth star. Great attitude, this restaurant.

I stopped by yesterday for a late lunch. The place was pretty packed, so I opted for an available bar seat. Service there was quick, attentive, and friendly. I detected no pretentiousness and who is Mark G. kidding about pizza in Ohio? Even my home state of Iowa does that better! Anyway, I should have tried their wood oven pizza, but I ended up with wings. Maybe next time. And it seemed to fit the mood at the bar as we were watching the Sea Hawks vs. 49ers on TV. Yeah I know.... The wings were pretty good and the beer was excellent. I tend to like either more hoppy or darker beers and the IPA and Stout did not disappoint. Overall, a very pleasant and casual afternoon.

This is a quaint restaurant/brewery that's well decorated and has some good looking pizzas, burgers, and other entrees. I had the shrimp tacos and enjoyed them. It's definitely not your standard bar food - it's stepped up a notch, and it's good. I wish that I could've gone here for dinner and enjoyed some of their beers. They had some great looking options.

The house made root beer was extremely terrible. Like dishwater and as flat. Probably a one off thing and I got no attitude about sending it back. The wood fired nachos and house made salsa was very satisfying and truly tasty.

What a disaster! We were headed to see the tulips and decided to stop for lunch. They were extremely busy for Monday at 1p, but figured it was because of the tulips. We waited for at least 15 minutes and got a table near the wood fire pizza kitchen. The server was really sweet. I ordered the homemade root beer & she suggested tasting it first. Why? Because my taster tasted like bleach. I settled for ice tea. My husband ordered the IPA, which he liked, but the ESB tasted like there was bacteria in the lines. We ordered the harvest quesadilla & shrimp tacos. We never got to try it, because it never showed up. One hour twenty minutes and it never arrived. The delivery of food was extremely slow in our section as we watched food go right past us to the outside patio. My husband had a clear view of the kitchen area and witnessed one plate of food wait for delivery at least 35 minutes and it wasn't under the heating lamp at all. Another plate sat for also quite a long time. Slowly, those around us got food, but ours did not show up. Server said it wouldn't be too much longer. We couldn't stand it any longer. I found the owner & told her what was going on & that we just wanted to pay for our drinks & go. She really didn't believe we waited that long and actually took our $11 for the drinks. If she spoke to the server & checked the computer, I'm sure she now knows we were telling the truth and I'm sure she's sorry for taking our money and not apologizing.

Super cozy little restaurant (with outdoor seating available) with rustic-esque tables and chairs. Wood fire pizza is delicious here! I got the 4 cheese pizza, which was incredible. Had garlic, green onions and olive oil. 10" personal pizzas are $10-12 so very reasonable. Seafood available as well. Our waitress was awesome :) Friendly and attentive. One of the reviewers below says they don't have french fries... but they do btw!

Nestled in the center of one of the cutest little towns left in the state, LaConner, the place is worth a visit. Beware, this is a small place, a brewery, with a small menu choice and an even smaller pizza. Don't go expecting gourmet foods. Go in with an I want something quick cuz my noon stomach is grumbly feeling. What they lack in food they make up for in the following ways. Friendly Followed us to our self sit table Immediate service, welcome atmosphere Small, quaint Solid hard wood table Kids allowed Old fashioned feel Hard wood floors Outdoor dining with heat and cover Paintings on wall can be purchased Soft lighting All in all a solid 3.

I've had better, beers weren't great. The buffalo wings were mostly burnt cause of they are cooked next to the pizza. The menu doesn't have their prices for their in house made beer, was shocked by how much they cost and all the beers treated the same.

Family had a awesome gastronomical experience. Fig Arugula Gorgonzola pizza, guacamole burger, mushroom olive pizza, washed down with onsite brewed root beer & ESB and then completed by the most delicious brownie & vanilla bean desert.. Best meal in a long time !!

I absolutely love the beer here (IPA is a must try!) This time I got the pale ale and the porter, both great! The food is ok but I've had better; I mostly come here for the beer. This time I got the steak panini that's served with au jus. I forgot to ask for no horseradish so I didn't like it as much as I could have. The atmosphere is cute with knotty pine everywhere, very charming, just like La Conner itself. If you want great beer, you gotta check this place out!

So I need to start with a disclaimer... My experience as a brewer makes me a bit over analytical of all things beer. But also because of this, I can appreciate good beer that may not necessarily be something that I like. I don't have to like it for it to be good. So with that, I write my first truly bad brewery review (and I've written a lot of brewery reviews). In all the breweries that I have ever been to, which I believe to be pushing around 30 or so, I have never seen such a lack of pride in the beer being brewed. I tried every single beer on tap, and all of them were plagued with many different kinds of off flavors, many of which are very easily prevented and avoided. Several examples reaked of diacetyl, a buttery smelling/foul tasting chemical that is released by the yeast during fermentation (though can often happen from poor sanitation). Avoiding this in the final product is something beginning homebrewers know how to do, and it's a shame that a brewer wouldn't take enough pride in his work to take the steps to keep it out of the customer's glass. And any respectable brewer would dump a batch of beer if it was truly infected, and couldn't get the flavor out. Other beers were very phenolic (medicinal taste), and fruity smelling/tasting. Not from actual fruits, but most likely from fermenting at too warm a temperature for that yeast strain. If I order an ESB, I don't want it to smell and taste like a belgian ale. Again, letting something like that pass quality control is unacceptable in my book. It's a shame I couldn't even taste what the beers were supposed to even taste like because of all the off flavors. The only beer I could stomach was the IPA, and that's because the extra hops masked the flaws. I was very turned off by the fact that the staff knew nothing about the beer, or about their brewing process or system. I asked basic questions about their beers and brewing process, and got a blank stare. When I asked about their brewing equipment, the response was "um, we have some of these tanks that are like... this much taller than me!" A good brewpub has a staff that knows the product, and is ready to educate the customer. And for our lunch of 1 (very) small sandwich, 1 salad, 1 beer, and 6 tasters, it cost $42. No bueno I love breweries. I especially love small, privately owned, hand craft establishments that love what they do, and take pride in their work. I got no such impression here. If you're in the area, and want a quality brewpub experience, Skagit River Brewing in Mt. Vernon is lightyears ahead of this place. I never wanted to write a truly bad brewery review... and I almost skipped this... but I couldn't let it go. That's $42 I want back.

Nice brew pub in La Conner, WA. Their beer is tasty but there is better to be had. I was a little disappointed in the signature pilsner. Their pizzas and burgers are good. Bummer: no fries here or even potato chips.

Beer was good, but they Do Not make their own Hard Ciders. I got the hamburger, Big Mistake.... it was a pre-formed, bought in a box burger that was dry and flavorless. I also got the ceasar salad that had a hint of Dirt taste to it. My husband got a Mushroom pizza that looked good but had all the toppings in the middle and wasnt crisp. Although they were kinda busy, no one ever checked on us or made sure we didnt need anything else - and we were sitting at the bar.

It pains me not to give LaConner a 5, I really really wanted to because I had such a love affair with the place when I visited 7 years or so ago, but it just isn't as I remembered it. The food was good, not great. I had shrimp tacos and they were good, not great. My wife liked the mushroom pizza, but it wasn't worth the price. Beer should be less expensive at the place of origin, but pints were $4.50. The beer seems to have gone downhill too. I believe the head brewer has changed since, which might explain it, but the beer was thin and lacked that awesome LaConner body I remember. The brewery used to put out some of the finest beer in Washington (the Dry hopped IPA was famous in beer geek circles). But I was non-plussed.

Very good food and a nice atmosphere in La Conner. It's a busy place and our lunchtime service was a little slow but we had a good meal. There were two servers working and we got the "less friendly, wish I was somewhere else" one but we survived. The tables near the nice, warm fireplace were taken but a window seat was a good option. We could watch the steady stream of visitors passing by. The cheeseburger and the panini's are served with soup or salad. I know fries are bad for me but really? A burger and salad? The pizza looked good, I'll try that next time (and there will be a next time). La Conner has many choices for food and the La Conner Brewing Company should be at the top of the list.

Wow! Knock the socks off of me. Excellent food and atmosphere. The place is bustling with people and esp. when you are situated right next to the pizza chefs when they are constantly maintaining the fire in the oven. The wait for the table was longer than expected, but while waiting outside for our table, we saw numerous motorcycle going by and getting a chance just to absorb what La Conner is about made the wait feel a lot shorter. The pizza was DELICIOUS! Soft and fluffy crust with just the right amount of herbs, meat, and mushroom (Sausage and Mushroom Pizza) and the Bacon Cheesburger was done just right. Um-mm!

Great little tourist trap of a place. The decor is definitely some knick-knack catalog's idea of what the world is supposed to look like. You know, like those people's living rooms that look like a lobby but everyone always says how pretty they look. It's not off-putting at all, it's actually quite welcoming, just not as soulful as it thinks it is. Very cute and friendly servers, though nobody seemed to know anything more about the beer than they had to to serve it to tourists and townies. I was there on a Saturday night, and all the locals were asking each other if they were going to the big dance tonight. I didn't know any places still had big dances tonight for anyone other than high schools and junior highs, but there you go. It's set in a quaint, chamber-of-commerce-approved historical district. You smell salt air walking around here it's right across the street from the piers. It's really nice, and you're bound to find a few of the beers in good shape. The kitchen appears to kick ass.

La Conner Brewing is a microbrewery and pizza "joint" in beautiful downtown La Conner. There are lots of expensive places to eat in La Conner, a very picturesque town near Seattle, but this definitely hit the spot without taking a clear swipe out of my wallet. I can recommend the mushroom pizza and the Wheat Pint on tap.

I love root beer and whenever a brew house has root beer that they make in house I make a point of trying it . They do and I did. It was the most awful root beer that I ever tasted. I told our server what I thought of it and she explained that people either love or hate it. So apparently there are people out there who love the taste of dirty socks with a nice sharp swampy aftertaste.I dare you to try it. It probably wont kill you and love or hate it it will be a taste you will not soon forget. The cheeseburger I had here was alright and the service was good. However I probably would not go back here having been scarred for life by the aforementioned beverage.

If you eat here, I highly recommend the pizzas. They are amazing. I'm a fan of IPA and somewhat of a beer snob, and their IPA is my favorite. They make a good lager and pale ale; the others are just okay, which is why I'm giving them 4 stars and not 5. The service is excellent as well. But if you eat there, order the smoked salmon pizza with an IPA! You won't regret it.

Around 9 am we stopped by this charming spot in la Conner. Try not to press your nose against the glass display case containing sticky buns, cinnamon rolls, triple berry cobbler, apple dumplings, stacks of your 'Mom's' best cookies & more. The bread pudding was very good and I passed on the whipped cream. My husband was happy with a lemon bar & his americano was good, however my espresso was BAD.

The pizza was good, the artichoke chicken panini was better. But, I gave it 4 stars for the beer. Awesome IPA, which has always been my favorite and theirs had a hint of honey in it and wasn't as bitter as most. The service was slow, but considering the weather condition (it was raining & hailing outside) and the occasion (Saturday during Tulip Festival), I was fine with it. If going to Tulip Festival in April, definitely make this your lunch stop!

OMG. The Margherita pizza and Mediterranean plate (hummus, pita, red and yellow bell peppers, and Kalamata olives!)--heaven, I tell you! Add a flight of beers for Husband and a glass of wine for me...we were happy, happy!

Our Everett group of friends headed up North to view some tulips and enjoy the sunshine in La Conner. We worried that it would be hard to seat our 6 top in that "brunch hour" and had our fingers crossed that we beat any groups that were heading out to eat after church or other groups that had our same 'eat before tulips' approach... we found La Conner Brewing Company just as they were opening at 11:30am (thank goodness because it was packed soon after we place out order). Amazing fresh and local food- not what you expect of a pub/bar/brewery. Three of us ordered the shrimp tacos and voted it best dish although the butternut squash quesadillas and clam chowder were strong competition. We will be back!!

About a year ago I ventured out to La Conner and stopped in the brewery to buy a pint glass with their attractive logo on it. I ended up purchasing a six pack of their IPA. After sampling the first bottle i came to two conclusions: First there is no way this is an actual IPA as it is way too malty and not very hoppy, and second this is the worst tasting beer i have ever tasted! I pawned off a bottle to a few of my friends and everyone agrees with me. The word has gotten out and no one dares take the last bottle off my hands. So there it sits lonely in my fridge waiting for someone out of the know to drink it.

I guess I'll go with three stars because the beer was delightful and the help were friendly and moderately attentive. The food was one to two stars though and my group tried everything from pizza to shrimp tacos to quesadillas. Nothing was fantastic and the quesadillas were actually quite bad (dry chicken and flavorless). I wouldn't hesitate to return for some wings and several of those fantastic pilsners though.

I really feel that the La Conner Brewing Co is closer to a 3.5 star place, but I'll round down a star. The pizzas were pretty good, but not really worth their $11 price. I have to agree with an earlier reviewer on the quality of their beer. I found all the brews to be off-taste...finally setteling on the IPA since its hard to make a truley bad one. As mentioned earlier the pizzas are good and flavorful, but I do wish they'd put more sausage on the Mushroom and Sausage pizza. Mine had barely any on it. In fact, my wife thought I ordered a plain mushroom pizza! All in all the food here is good and worth a stop if you're already in La Conner and you don't really care about beer. Otherwise, I think Skagit River Brewery is much better.

The pizza is good, but if you're not in the mood they also have great salads and sandwiches. Let's no forget the amazing selection of lagers and ales they keep on tap. I highly recommend the Thai Chicken pizza along with a cold IPA. To make things even better, they have a quiet patio for outside seating that is dog friendly. I wish I could say that for all restaurants. Great place!

Surprisingly contemporary menu. Good execution. Nice service. Not-bad beer. Charming outdoor patio that seems to be where the families with young children are banished (tho I would have have liked to see the patio heater nearest our table turned on, since it was pretty cool outside).

Tried the wood-fired nachos, neopolitan pizza and root beer (made on-site - ?). My husband is from East coast where they know great pizza - this is not good. Also had wood-fired nachos and did not appreciate large nacho being placed on top of pile and then underneath the small cracked pieces found at the bottom of the bag - would not go back because of this. In this economy -- restaurants need to put there best out there as there are so many choices and places to spend hard earned $$'s. Root beer had an off taste. On positive note -- good atmosphere for a chilly night, and a nice server.

They have the best beer and pizza and ceasar salads locally! My fav place, but hard to socialize when it's crowded, as it gets very loud in there for some reason. Must be the high ceilings. The wait staff are always kick ass!!

Poor, slow service. Bad pizza. With all the beautiful produce and seafood nearby, this is a sad excuse for a place to eat. Swing by a Snow Goose Produce or The Calico Cupboard for a good inexpensive meal.

Another stop during our weekend in La Conner. I think it may be the only place in town that serves food after 9pm!!! We got there around 9:15pm and sat down at a cool skinny bar table for two in the bar area. I got carded for about the 3rd time, that doesn't happen often in Seattle. I tried their Lager and their Brown Ale but both were not my style. They only have one dark beer - the Porter. I ended up getting a Root Beer and my husband order the Wheat beer. I must the Root Beer was fabulous, very vanilla-y and just the ticket on a hot day. I also ordered the special, which was Fish Tacos with chipotle rub and then finished under the wood fire grill. They were pretty good, a little sparse on the fish though and heavy on the cabbage. My husband had a half order of the crab cakes and he said they were very good! In true pub-style they have games within easy reach - chinese checkers, cards, etc. It definitely seemed like a cool place to hang out with a group of friends.

Really great food in a wonderful atmosphere along with strong flavorful beer makes this LaConner brewery a must eat location if visiting this tourist stop in Skagit Valley. We love the artichoke crab dip and the Thai Pizza. The salmon panini is also great. They have lots of board games and a cozy fireplace if you want to spend some tme with a beer. Great spot to visit.
